How to Find Creative People to Create Your Branding

Entrepreneurs are idea people. They are driven and passionate about what they love and do. But that means that plenty of entrepreneurs aren’t creatives with strong technical skills in graphic design or website creation. If that sounds like you, that’s perfectly fine and normal! Still, entrepreneurs need to create strong branding for their companies, regardless if they can do it themselves or not.

Thankfully, it’s easier today than it has ever been at hiring someone to create your branding materials. The flipside is that it is almost too easy, and it can be an overwhelming experience to determine how to move forward in a world with a plethora of options.

Here’s how to find creative people to create your branding and all the materials involved:

Word of mouth

One of the oldest ways of finding a product or service still works: word of mouth. Ask around and see what your peers, friends, and family know. A recommendation from someone you trust is hard to beat, especially if they can provide information on how exactly their experience went and what you can expect. Additionally, you might be able to find a great person you never would have found otherwise. Word of mouth is a great way to find independent creatives right under your very nose, some of whom you may even know personally already.

You can also leverage any social media following you have, even if it is for your personal accounts, to see what your followers think. Great recommendations come from everywhere.

Freelance websites

Websites like Freelancer, Upwork, and Fiverr are fantastic resources in your search for a creative professional to help create your branding. You can put a bid out for your project, view the applications, and choose whomever you consider to be best for you. Freelance websites are particularly good for finding individuals to do the small things. Just remember that there will be people who submit bargain bids for their services in an attempt to get you to bite. While that might be a good option for you, remember that ‘you get what you pay for’ is as applicable to freelance work as it is anywhere else, so just keep up your guard.

Advertising and marketing firms

Depending on what you need for your branding, you might consider reaching out to advertising agencies or marketing firms. These full-service companies are pros at creating and cultivating brands, and they are filled to the brim with passionate creatives who can do anything you need. Furthermore, they can continue to help you with your brand if you encounter success and need to scale up. Their services can be expensive, but don’t write them off out-of-hand, because the right person is the right person when it comes to your company’s branding.
